Crystal Completes Successful First Year Since Relaunch

The iconic Crystal brand has marked a successful first year since relaunching guest services in mid-2023 under the ownership of A&K Travel Group. The luxury cruise line welcomed passengers aboard the newly-refitted Crystal Serenity on July 31, 2023, following an extensive modernization at the Fincantieri shipyard. Originally built in 2003, the ship now boasts upgraded suites, refreshed public spaces, and reduced guest capacity for a more exclusive experience.

The Crystal Symphony also underwent a similar transformation before re-entering service on September 1, 2023. Both ships have since offered luxurious cruise itineraries in the Mediterranean, Europe, and beyond. The Crystal Serenity later repositioned to Canada and New England before embarking on a grand 125-night world cruise in early 2024, while the Crystal Symphony ventured to the Indian Ocean, Asia, and Australia.

As part of its fleet expansion, Crystal has plans to introduce at least two new cruise ships, with the first 690-guest, 61,800-ton vessel set to debut in 2028. Built by Fincantieri, these new ships will further elevate the cruise line’s offerings, catering to the growing demand for luxury travel experiences. There’s also an option for a third ship, potentially entering service in 2032.

This exciting relaunch follows Crystal’s acquisition by A&K Travel Group, led by Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, who purchased the brand after Genting Hong Kong’s closure in 2022. A&K acquired two of Crystal’s ships, with the Crystal Endeavor sold to Silversea Expeditions.

Stay tuned as Crystal Cruises continues to set new standards in luxury cruising, with exciting new ships and world-class itineraries on the horizon.
